Never pick, pop or squeeze a pimple. This usually causes the pimple to last longer because it further spreads bacteria by pushing it deeper into your skin, and can cause it to develop into a cyst. Then by being open and exposed to outside contaminants, the infection can worsen. This can also cause permanent damage (scarring) to your skin. Since popping isn't the way to go, patience is the key. Your pimple will disappear on its own, and by leaving it alone you're less likely to be left with any reminders that it was there.
