Temporary Hair Color Review

Changing up your hair color can be an awesome way to create an entirely new look. The only problem is that sometimes the shade doesn't turn out quite as we expected or it doesn't flatter our skin tone. It is always best to gradually go a few shades lighter or darker to make sure you will be happy with the results. This will also make it much easier to remove or replace the color if you are unhappy with it.

You can also upload your picture into virtual makeover programs and try on different hair hues before you actually take the plunge. However, if you are completely set on drastically changing your hair color using a non-permanent dye is probably the way to go. There are several different levels of hair dye including semi-permanent, demi-permanent, and temporary hair colors.

If you are planning on trying an extreme color like a bright pink or a blue, temporary hair dye will be your best option. It typically comes in colors that are much more vibrant than permanent dyes and since it can be easily washed out you won't have to worry so much about whether or not the color is right for you.

Depending on what type of temporary hair dye you purchase, this is an excellent way to drastically change your hair color for a fun weekend event while still being able to return to your natural hair color for work at the beginning of the week. If you work for a company that is very strict on hair color make sure you purchase a color that washes out easily and test it on your hair in small sections before coloring all over.

One of the great things about temporary hair color is that it comes in a wide variety of different forms which makes it easy to use on many different hair types. You can find temporary hair colors that come in the form of rinses, shampoos, gels, sprays, foams, crayons, mascaras and markers. Some are easier to remove than others depending on the type that you buy.

Typically, for costume parties you can purchase a temporary hair color that comes in a spray form. You simply spray the dye all over your hair and it sticks to your hair for the night. If you hair has been bleached or chemically treated, temporary hair color can be a little more difficult to remove so if you have an important function to be at it probably isn't the best idea to use a temporary hair color a few days prior just to be on the safe side.

The molecules of pigment in temporary hair color are much larger than other types of hair color so they do not penetrate the cuticle. The color in temporary dye absorbs into the hair shaft and can be removed simply with shampooing. Again, if your hair is dry or damaged temporary hair color can linger in your hair for a longer amount of time so be careful when using this type of color before a big event.

Temporary hair color generally only lasts a few hours and up to a day so if you are looking for a more permanent color this is going to fade very quickly. However, if you are just looking for a quick temporary change, temporary hair color will be a great change for you.
